## Notes

Candidate, link-out only. No documented search API was found: the National Archives dataset page offers a bulk metadata file (JSON, about 50 MB) released for non-commercial use with attribution under CC BY-NC 4.0, which a paid service cannot use. founders.archives.gov answered 202 with an empty body to scripted requests on the day of review, robots.txt included. A person searches it by hand for letters and orders naming a soldier or his unit.
